Multi string guitars were popular among guitarists already in the XIXth Century. Famous virtuosos as Sor, Coste, Mertz, Legnani, Carulli and others played as well as composed for 7-, 8-, 10-string guitars or lyre guitars or harp guitars.
There is serious amount of valuable repertoire composed for 10-string guitar (just to mention the excellent music of Maurice Ohana). This instrument is also a very interesting choise for performing the transcriptions of baroque lute music.
This instrument has a very special construction resulting in impressive sound power - very deep and rich in colors.
Special construction of the bridge was used to allow perfect tuning.
Arnoldo García also experiments with the instrument construction that merges the two worlds of flamenco and classical guitar. The result is a guitar with "classical touch" and flamenco soul in the sound.
Arnoldo García builds copies of instruments made by some of the greatest XIXth Century builders - René François Lacôte and Fabricatore Family. His romantic guitars are played by great guitar virtuosos as Ricardo Gallén or Pablo Márquez.
The sound of these instruments is both sweet and very powerfull with fanatastic projection and beautiful colors.
Available models are 6- and 7-string guitar, Terz guitar, Lacôte and Fabricatore with unique, beautiful ornamentation.
Arnoldo García has made a research on the ancient instruments that gave him better understanding of the development of music and guitar from renaissance to present moment. It is also a great source of knowledge about the sound itself and the acoustics.
He builds many kinds of ancient instruments:
- Renaissance lute
- Baroque lute
- Baroque guitar
- Viola da gamba
